Amazon.com Review

Life lessons? Romance? Literary instruction? Go, Dog. Go! offers all this and more, wrapped up in one simply worded, warmly hued package. Using single-syllable words in rhythmic repetition, and introducing colors and prepositions, this Seuss-styled classic has been an early favorite of children since 1961. For those looking for deeper meaning in a beginning reader book, here you'll find nothing less than a microcosm of life. Green dogs, yellow dogs, big dogs, little dogs. Dogs who prefer cars, dogs who favor skis. All represent the diversity a child will find in the world. And the slow-to-bud romance between the cheerfully oblivious yellow dog and the mincing pink poodle explains more succinctly than most self-help books what goes on in many grown-up relationships. Nonetheless, Eastman takes the concept of "primary" to heart, with his simple silly phrases and solidly colored illustrations. Not only will this book inspire peals of laughter in kids, it will also help them make the magical connection between those mysterious black squiggles on the page, and the words they hear and speak. (Ages 4 to 8)

Blunted Corners
The corners of the book were very blunted. The book was packed in a box slightly bigger than its size; seems like that should be fine, so not sure if the issue was the packaging or how the book was stored pre-packaging.

An absolute favorite & classic in our family! I loved it as a child, my son (now nearly 24 years old)) adored this book as a baby/toddler, and now I give it to anyone having a baby, in our family or otherwise. It’s fun for children during story time & they learn to recognize words very quickly. I remember the days when my son was sight reading this book in his crib; he still has it, unwilling to ever give it away. This is a repeat purchase & I’m sure I’ll buy it again whenever a baby shower invitation shows up in my mailbox!

Go Dog, Go is a hilarious tale full of whimsy and adventure. It follows a group of dogs as they romp and play, getting into all sorts of fun mischief. But don't be fooled by the playful tone, because this book also packs a patriotic punch. When things get tough, these furry friends band together, using their bravery and smarts to overcome difficult challenges. Along the way, they learn important lessons about life. The writing is easy to follow and the characters are oh-so-lovable, making this a perfect read for kids and adults alike. In short, "Go Dog, Go" is a timeless novel that should have a spot on every bookshelf.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great book and a classic!
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on February 16, 2013
Both my boys love this book! This book is complete genius as it teaches your child prepositions such as over, under, on, at etc... in such a fun way. It has a couple of fun threads running through the book to maintain interest which includes dogs in cars heading towards a dog party and one dog trying on different hats to impress another dog. The illustrations are old and the red colour looks more like orange. But it makes up for this in written content. This is not a conventional story book and at first glance it seems to jump around but i think it adds to the interest. I love reading this with my boys and they enjoy trying to read it. This is the second time i've bought this book as the other got so tatty from constant handling.
